Susan Boyle Biography
Susan Boyle, the Scottish singer, became famous overnight, after she had appeared as a contestant on the stage of the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Center in Glasgow for an audition of "Britain’s Got Talent". At the time of audition she was 47 years old and unemployed. The obvious negative attitude of the jury towards her at the time she appeared on the stage, and the standing ovation she received after her performance, made Susan Boyle famous all over the world. According to Susan, "all she did was to apply for the show". No doubts – she’d got a talent – the beautiful voice that is not easy to forget. But there was much more than her voice that caused the sensation in the media. Susan’s appearance and age seemed unsuitable for the show, and her unwillingness to fit into the show stereotypes was obvious. However, the magic of her voice and sincerity of her personality were so genuine that the audience instantly fell in love with her. Susan Boyle Biography – her career and singingSusan was born in Blackburn, Scotland, in a family of immigrants from Ireland. She was the youngest of four brothers and six sisters. At school, Susan was diagnosed as having learning difficulties. She left school with few qualifications, and was later employed as a trainee cook in West Lothian College. This job lasted six months, and was her only employment. Since her early years, Susan dreamed of becoming a professional singer. She knew of her talent, and she also knew it would be a difficult path. She took singing lessons from the voice coach Fred O’Neil. Her main singing experience was singing in her local Catholic church. Later, she auditioned several times for "My Kind of People". In 1999, Susan Boyle recorded a track for a charity CD produced at a local school. The local newspaper called her song "heartbreaking". The singer used all her savings for a demo, the copies of which she sent to record companies, local and national TV, radio talent competitions. She would not have any luck with it, and she started to believe that people were always chosen for their looks. Susan’s mother tried to persuade her to enter "Britain Got Talent" to sing in front of the larger audience. However, it would take years for Susan to decide to enter the show. Her performance in 2009 was her way to pay a tribute to her mother, who died in 2007 at the age of 91.

Somehow, her triumph has been felt by people as their own. Her singing voice responds in our hearts and reminds about the hidden treasures within us.
